Yakima Valley Events (yakimavalley.events) is a free local events calendar for the Yakima Valley. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Information you provide. If you join the waitlist on our Add Event page, we collect your email address so we can notify you when self-posting goes live. If you email us directly to submit an event, we receive whatever you include in that message.

Usage data (with your consent). If you accept cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and general traffic patterns. Analytics does not load unless you click OK on the cookie notice.

Preferences stored on your device. We save your theme choices (paper color and heading font) and your cookie consent decision in your browser's local storage so they persist between visits.

Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and API providers may process standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

We use the information above to:

• Publish and maintain the public events calendar
• Operate the posting waitlist and respond to event submissions
• Improve the site based on aggregate usage patterns
• Protect the site from spam, abuse, and technical problems

We do not sell your personal information.

We use local storage for your theme preferences and cookie consent choice. These are stored on your device and are not shared with advertisers.

Waitlist email addresses are kept until self-posting launches and related notifications are sent, or until you ask us to remove your address. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings. Theme and consent preferences remain on your device until you clear them.

• Email hello@yakimavalley.events to ask about or request deletion of waitlist data tied to your email
• Clear local storage and cookies in your browser settings

Residents of Washington and other states may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. Contact us and we will respond in a reasonable timeframe.

Yakima Valley Events is a general-audience community calendar. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as the site grows — for example, when self-posting accounts launch. We will revise the date at the top of this page when we make meaningful changes.
